Hello darkness my old friend

What's your favorite sound? Maybe the sound of your name, kids giggling or even birds. All of these almost made it to being the number one spot. But the sound I'm truly grateful for is silence. After having Meniere's Disease I have learned to value the peace that comes not hearing anything. One of the symptoms of Meniere's that really gets to me is the roaring. It's the most horrible noise I've ever had to hear. Imagine misery, constant TV static, or standing near a waterfall. What's most horrifying is that you never know when it will go away! It's terrifying. I live in fear of these days. Everyday I wake up and don't hear it I say a prayer of thanks. I used to cry myself to sleep listening to it and put of going to sleep because I worried I'd wake up with it.

Today I'm grateful for silence.

Con todo mi cariƱo,
