No private rooms or telephones

This past weekend we decided to go on a last minute trip to Glendale, and it was awesome! We had planned to spend Saturday in Scottsdale and were looking forward to it, however we took Danny to urgent care because we thought he might be sick. Luckily he was fine and healthy! Not so lucky was how long it took. Our entire Saturday was wasted. As we sat around Saturday evening grumbling over this Wyatt suggested we stay the night in Glendale and go to the Hot Air Ballon Festival the next day. Marriott gave us a free night so we thought, why not! We packed our bags, bought tickets to the Hot Air Ballon Festival and hit the road! I have really enjoyed making little videos of our family so I made one for this trip!

Wyatt and I are actually pretty impulsive. Which, luckily for us, usually turns out to be a good thing. That's definitely the case with this little vacation. It was fun! We got to the hotel Saturday night and were hungry so we ate at Grimaldis. That was nice, the kids were really well behaved too. We got back to the hotel and got ready for bed. Sammy went out like a light (he's such a good baby). Wyatt, Danny and I stayed up a little longer watching the movie "Baby's day out". I remember loving that movie when I was younger, I don't even know why. Maybe it's because the baby is so dang cute. Hearing the music from the movie was really nostalgic, it was special to be watching this favored childhood movie with my baby.

Staying in hotels with kids always makes the nights seem really long. It dragged. The kids actually did great, Sammy went down at around 10pm and didn't wake up until 4:30am! Danny woke up a few times asking to go home, it was actually kind of sweet.

Wyatt snoozed the alarm clock a few times so we were late getting out the door, the timing couldn't have been more perfect. We were there just in time to see the balloons launch!

Afterwards we went back to the hotel to have breakfast, which was delicious. I was impressed with their breakfast, and their rooms for that matter. We had a Studio King, the bed felt huge! Best part? No one touched me while I was sleeping! I hate being touched while I'm trying to sleep. That's how you know you're getting old. When physical contact at night bugs you haha! No but truly it's mostly Danny, when he sleeps with us he always winds up kicking my back  ALL NIGHT. Drives me bonkers! Anyways, after breakfast we went "swimming" aka sat in the hot tub.

It was a little chilly (by Arizona standards;)  so sitting in the hot tub felt awesome!

I love this picture I snapped of Wyatt and Danny. They're so cute!

We headed over to Cabela's after checking out because it was literally right across the street. I had never been to Cabelas and was blown away! It's like a mini museum!

I still can't get over how big these balloons are, Smoky the bear takes the cake though. That thing was huge.  Wyatt and I think that Smoky has big sponsors, that balloon doesn't even touch the ground, they lay out a tarp for him. (fancy) There was a "Humpty Dumptey" balloon that we thought looked super creepy, but Danny thought he was funny.

It was a really fun trip and I'm really grateful that Wyatt came up with the idea and was excited about spending time with us. Not that he doesn't like to normally, but these days I feel like the number of men who want to hang out with their families is dwindling. I guess that's why I love mine so much!

Con mucho amor,

Cindy

PS. Today's post title was brought to you by Baby's Day Out! I always thought the scene with the war veterans was special. Again, I'm really happy I got to watch this movie with Danny, it was sweet. Also, side note, the parents in this movie look crazy young. How are they so wealthy?! Lastly, is the nanny on this show the same actress who plays Miranda on Sex and the City? Dang, what a jump.
